NanoSim is a nanopore sequence read simulator based on statistical characterization. It is a fast and scalable read simulator that captures the technology-specific features of Oxford Nanopore Technologies data. The first step of NanoSim is read characterization, which provides a comprehensive alignment-based analysis and generates a set of read profiles serving as the input to the next step, the simulation stage which produces in silico reads for a given reference genome. NanoSim uses R to fit error models and Python for read length analysis and simulation. It has shown it's usefulness in simulation of both circular or linear genomes.
Input variables : ONT transcriptome reads (cDNA / direct RNA), Genomic reads
